Born Ebie Precious Onungwe, Presh is a Nigerian-Canadian recording artist, singer-songwriter, performer, and entertainer, recognized for his hit single “Awake” and the Global Artist Recognition award at MOPA 2023.

Presh, born in Eleme, Rivers State, Nigeria, now resides in Canada. He graduated from the University of Regina in 2015 with a B.A.Sc in Petroleum Systems Engineering and a Diploma in Business Administration. During university, Presh decided to balance studies while honing his musical skills.

Presh’s artistic inspiration comes from his grandmother, Chief Madam Osila Nwafor Olai Nwanke Ejii, a renowned composer and performer. His mother, Mimi Onungwe, often tells stories of his grandmother lamenting how none of her kids pursued song composition and artistry, but her wish was fulfilled when her grandson, Ebie-mimi Onungwe, made waves in the music industry.

Presh’s musical journey began with “Champion” in 2019, gaining massive recognition. Another acclaimed song is “You Matter.” He’s known for his soulful vocal style in Afro-Pop, Neo-Soul, R&B Soul, and Pop.

Presh is signed to his own label, E.B.O Records, promoting artistic freedom. He’s a sought-after Afro-Pop and R&B Soul artist in Africa and Canada, affectionately known as “De Presh.
